Unity Church of Christianity

When we read the holy scriptures, we are looking not only for metaphorical and allegorical meanings of the stories, characters, places and things, but deeper than that, we are seeking the personal and spiritual meanings of the text.

We affirm that each person is guided by the Spirit of Truth within to interpret the Bible in keeping with the message that God is revealing to them and through them. The Bible is our foundational text and we use it as a basis for prayer.

Our Bible study group meets at 10:00am every Sunday before the service at 11:00am. We are currently studying the Gospel of Matthew with a metaphysical lens.

Prosperity & Tithing

Unity affirms that there is an abundance of good available at all times for all people. We affirm prosperity by tithing to our church weekly. Our church also tithes to other nonprofit organizations in our community weekly. Tithing keeps the windows of heaven open and pouring forth a continuous flow of blessings (see Malachi 3:10).

Here are some prosperity affirmations:

Freely I give and freely I receive, in divine abundance. I am one with and now realize divine abundance. Everything I desire is on its way to me now. Nothing can keep my own from me. My good is manifest as I give thanks in advance.

Our prosperity principles teach that we must affirm the One Power and One Presence active in the universe and in our lives, God the Good, as the Source of our supply at all times. God is providing all that we need in the right way at the right time. We use our faith and imagination to manifest these things through prayer.

Healing & 12 Powers

Unity began as a healing ministry. We believe that the soul heals the body through the power of Spirit. We teach about twelve power centers in the body that can be activated for the purpose of healing, each corresponding to an energy center:

Faith in the center brain, will and understanding in the front brain, imagination at the third eye, power in the throat, zeal at the base of the brain, love at the heart, wisdom at the solar plexus, order at the navel, strength at the base of the spine, elimination in the lower abdomen and life in the reproductive organs.

12 powers affirmations can be used for healing. For example, if you were having digestive issues, you could activate the power of order in that part of the body by saying: “Divine order is active in my body and in my life. All material is processed wisely and efficiently by my body. I am healthy and strong as I allow God’s law of perfect harmony and balance to manifest through my organs and tissues.”

Here are also some general healing affirmations:

In all circumstances, I heal knowing I am whole. Every cell in my body is full of divine life. Centered in divine life, I flourish in every way. My body is a temple of the Living Spirit of God, which is the manifestation of perfect life, wholeness, health, wellness, energy, strength, power, vigor, youth and comfort. I have eternal life through the Christ at work in me, through me and as me. My faith heals me now.

Prayer & Meditation

Unity practices affirmative prayer. Here are some general affirmations:

The peace of God flows within each breath. Peace is mine as I rest in this timeless moment. I pause. I breathe. I enter an inner sanctuary of peace.

In a spirit of peace, I seek to understand and appreciate others. I am at peace with all of humanity. We all share One Mind, One Heart, and One Spirit.

In the harmony of divine love, I bless my relationships. By the power of divine order, I easily adjust to changing conditions. My thoughts and actions contribute to harmony in the world. Divine guidance inspires my every step.

By faith, I perceive the real and true in every circumstance. I am in tune with universal intelligence within and around me. God is always present.
